Panaji: Goa Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Kumar collapsed during the Independence Day parade while Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was presenting awards on Saturday.
Kumar, who was standing beside Sawant, suddenly collapsed while the awards were being presented, causing concern among those present.
The DGP was immediately shifted from the venue to a private hospital on a stretcher for medical treatment.
An ambulance stationed at the venue transported him to the hospital.
In a media statement, Goa Police PRO said that the DGP was taken to the hospital for a check-up.
“His vital parameters have been checked. Everything is normal,” the statement said.
