New York: The Goan Association of New York led by their dynamic President, Avril D’Costa, celebrated their 2019 Spring Ball at the beautiful World Fair Marina in New York. The classy event was very well attended by members from the tri-state.

In her speech, Avril D’Costa welcomed all the guests and highlighted the good work the Association was doing both with the Goan community in New York and in Goa.

The Goan Association was all about preserving our cultural heritage, bringing the community together, having fun events and most of all giving back to the community both here and in Goa. She praised her dedicated committee for all the hard work they put in to organize the event. She urged the members to come forward and show their Goenkarponn by being more involved in serving the community.

Air India and Qatar airways both sponsored a round trip ticket which was raffled and auctioned respectively. The proceeds would help the Association with their numerous charity works.

She also stated that friendship was not an opportunity but a responsibility, and service to others was not just a privilege, it was an honor. And the greatest gift you can give someone is your time.

She was looking forward to celebrating World Goa Day on July 14. There was a good display of prizes and raffle baskets. The event was compered by Ralph Dias. The Band Prism was in attendance and rocked
