On 10/08/2024, Dr Desai’s Clinic in collaboration with Vritti, organized a doctors’ meet under the banner of “Doctor Dialogues” to discuss the crucial topic of mental health. The event was held at Club Gaspar Dias and brought together medical professionals to share insights, exchange ideas, and discuss the growing importance of mental health in clinical practice. Ayurveda practitioners from across Goa and Maharashtra attended the meet.
Dr Jaiprada Kanekar, Consultant Psychiatrist was the speaker. She highlighted the significance of mental health in the overall well-being of patients and to explore the challenges and strategies for integrating mental health care into everyday medical practice. She shared case vignettes and discussed the various aspects of mental health that general practitioners need to identify. Dr. Kanekar also spoke about the need to remove the stigma associated with mental health.
Dr Anura Bale, Principal, Gomantak Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya &Research Centre presided over the function and remarked that more such meetings need to be organised where doctors can exchange knowledge and update their knowledge. She congratulated the organisers, Dr. Gaurav Desai and Dr. Snehil Shetty for taking the initiative of organising such innovative programs.
The organisers shared their plans to organise more such events in the future to continue meaningful dialogues amongst doctors.
