Canacona: Congress leader Janardhan Bhandari and AAP leader Sandesh Telekar have demanded that the authorities should defer the demolition of 78 houses at Agonda, scheduled on April 18.

The government authorities have planned a demolition drive on April 18 against 78 houses built on Communidade land in Agonda village panchayat area.

Congress Leader Janardhan Bhandari accompanied by AAP leader Sandesh Telekar visited these houses and demanded that the State government should defer running bulldozer on these houses.

“While on one hand, government speaks of constructing houses for needy under Shram Dham scheme, on the other hand, they want to snatch shelters of the poor people,” Bhandari said.

He said that these houses belongs to Bahujan Samaj and minority community and they had to build the houses on communidade land due to scarcity of the land and availability of communidade land at cheaper rate.

Bhandari demanded to bring amendment in law to legalize/regularize houses of these “NIZ GOENKARS/BHOOMIPUTRA” of Goa.
