Panaji : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa informed that Cyclonic storm “Gulab”, is likely to increase the rainfall in Goa. weakened into a Deep Depression & lay centered at 8:40 AM IST of 27th September 2021 over south Odisha and adjoining south Chhattisgarh.
The storm is likely to move nearly westward & weaken into a Depression during next 06 hours and into a well marked Low pressure area during subsequent 24 hours.
“With its westward movement, rainfall activity is likely to increase over Goa. Heavy rainfall(rainfall>6.4cm in 24hrs) very likely at one or two places over North& South Goa districts on 27th, 28th & 29th September. Please be updated about the weather warning in the coming days,” informed IMD Goa.
It is likely that the system could emerge into northeast Arabian Sea& adjoining Gujarat coast around 30th September evening and there is likelihood for the system to further intensify over northeast Arabian Sea during the subsequent 24 hours, said IMD Goa.
