COVID-19: Recovery rate is expected to continue in coming days: CM

Panaji: With the number of COVID-19 patients recovering more than the fresh cases in the coastal state, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that similar recoveries are expected in coming days.

Goa reported number of recovering exceeding the number of cases for second consecutive day on Wednesday, dropping the number of active COVID-19 patients in the state.

“Recovery of 137 active corona positive cases in the last two days is a reflection of the hard work and efforts of our frontline corona warriors, and robust healthcare infrastructure that has been set up in the state. Similar number of recoveries are expected in coming days,” Sawant tweeted on Wednesday evening.

The trend of more patients recovering compared to the new cases began on Tuesday when for the first time a group of 53 COVID-19 recovered people were discharged from various facilities including ESI hospital in Margao and other covidcare facilities across the state.

Tuesday saw 45 new COVID-19 positive cases while 53 people had recovered.

The trend continued on Wednesday with 84 people recovering while 42 were new infection due to which the active COVID-19 infection cases dropped from 702 to 660 on Wednesday.

Goa has 951 COVID-19 cases detected till Wednesday with 289 patients recovered till date.
