Panaji: Goa’’s coronavirus caseload went up by 233 and reached 43,201 on Thursday, a health department official said.

The death toll mounted to 597 as five patients succumbed to the infection during the day, he said.

The number of recovered patients in the state rose to 40,168 with 194 of them getting discharge on Thursday. The number of active cases is now 2,436, the official said.

“A total of 1,683 samples were tested during the day,” he added.
