Congress leads in South Goa, BJP in North Goa

Panaji: Congress candidate Viriato Fernandes is leading with 2610 votes against his nearest rival BJP candidate Pallavi Dempo during the first round of the counting.

As per the information on the Election Commission of India website Fernandes has polled 11345 votes as against 8735 by Dempo, giving him a lead of 162610 votes. Rubert Pereira of Revolutionary Goans Party has polled 714 votes and stands at the third position.

In North Goa, BJP candidate Shripad Naik was leading with 2147 votes by polling 6749 votes as against his nearest rival Ramakant Khalap who has polled 4649 votes. RGP candidate Manoj Parab has polled 1225 votes.
