Panaji: In a dramatic action, Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco displayed eggs during Zero Hour today claiming them to be made up of plastic.

“I have brought three eggs to show to you. These are plastic eggs which are being sold in Goa,” the Congress legislator said displaying the eggs on the floor of the House.

He said that these eggs are harmful for the people of the State and the government needs to take action against those who sell them.

The legislator alleged that the State Food and Drugs Administration Department is lacking in taking action against such eggs, which are sold to the gullible customers in the State.

Responding to the claim, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said that “one cannot manufacture plastic egg.”

He said he would agree only after getting them checked in the labouratories. Parrikar urged opposition benches not to indulge in speculation before the results are out.

“I will get it checked with all laboratories. We will send one to the Centre also. There cannot be a plastic egg,” Parrikar said.
