Margao: Today morning a 200mm diameter PVC pipeline burst in front of the South Goa District Library at Colmorod Margao, leaving certain pockets of ward 20 without water for the day.
Shadow Council for Margao Convener Savio Coutinho said that till 6pm in the evening, the workers were seen digging the area in search of the pipeline. The maintenance contractor at the site assured that the repair work shall be completed by tonight.
“What is interesting is that while the capacity of the pipeline lines laid are designed for a pressure of 6kg/m³, the pipeline burst when the pressure of water released is less than 2kg/m³. And till today we don’t seem to get any proper justification for the frequent breakdowns/bursts”,he said.
