Panaji: With BJP yet to stake claim to form the next government, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will be leaving for Delhi on Tuesday evening to meet party’s National President J P Nadda.

Sawant told reporters outside the Assembly complex that he would be going to Delhi to meet the Party President. He did not elaborate on the purpose of the visit.

He said that State Party President Sadanand Tanavade will also be present with him during Delhi visit.

“CM and other leaders are also expected to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi,” he said.

Sources in the party stated that Sawant would be holding discussion with Nadda and other senior leaders about formation of the new government.

BJP has already appointed Narendra Singh Tomar and L Murugan as Observer and co-observer of the party for Goa.

Sources stated that both the observers are expected to hold meeting of the BJP legislative party on Wednesday during which the leader of the unit would be decided.

On Monday, Tanavade had specified that the swearing-in ceremony of new chief minister would be held after Holi.
