Margao: BJP Government in Goa has now realised that it has completely failed in giving people friendly governance and hence the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has now entered into a “Face Saving Mode”. I had demanded almost a year back for an Economic Revival Package of Rs. 100 Crores to help the Marginalized Sector. What the Chief Minister has announced is “BJP’s Election Revival Package” charged Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat.
The Chief Minister is making the same announcements which the Congress Party demanded almost a year back but without any concrete execution plan. These announcements will remain on papers till the elections come. People will continue to suffer for next eight months. Goa’s fortune will change only after Congress Party forms the Government in 2022 stated Digambar Kamat.
The announcement made by the Chief Minister on giving Rs. 5000/- to the Traditional Occupationists as one time financial aid has no meaning at all in this critical times of Covid Pandemic when they are suffering for last almost one and half year. The Government must increase the amount to Rs. 25000/- per person demanded Digambar Kamat.
I suspect of ulterior motives of the Government in giving relaxation in rent to Mobile Tower Operators. This may be an attempt to support the Crony Club of the BJP. Chief Minister must explain why the Government is reluctant to expand the already existing Intranet Optic Fibre Cable Broadband Network in Goa which has reached every Panchayat in the State.
Government must immediately implement the “Goemche Daiz Scheme” initiated by the Congress Government to support the Traditional Occupationists of Goa. Short Term announcements will not help the traditional Occupationist like Motorcycle Pilots, Poders, Renders, Fulkars, Khajekars, Barbers, Coblers, Kakonkars, and others.
It is most unfortunate that the Government has shelved the “Goa Vision 2035” document prepared by the Committee headed by eminent Scientist Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar. The said Committee comprising of experts from various fields had prepared a comprehensive document which can take Goa to newer heights of progress and development. I think this document will now see the light of the day when the Congress Government comes to power claimed Digambar Kamat.
Today there are only 3 Congress MLAs left with the Congress Voters out of 17. Feeling very SAD for Congress Voters.
