Calangute: In the continuing drive against narcotic drugs, the Calangute Police Station Team conducted a narcotic raid in the wee hours of the morning of 04/04/2019 near Bandodkar statue, at Umtawaddo, Calangute in which one Nigerian National namely Basan Lama, a native of Nagaland was apprehended by L/PSI Pragati Malik assisted by Police Constables Shasank Shakalkar, Dinesh Morajkar and Vinod Kerkar and 38 grams ganja all worth Rs 3,800/– was seized from his possession.
An offence is registered against him under section 20(b)(ii) of the NDPS Act, 1985. The accused foreigner was produced before JMFC Mapusa and remanded to 14 days Judicial Custody. PSI Laxi Amonkar is conducting further investigation in this case under the guidance of PI Nolasco Raposo and DySP Edwin Colaco.
