Canacona: A webinar open for all on the topic ‘Breaking the Gender Stereotypes’ will be organised by the department of English at DPM’s Shree Mallikarjun & Shri Chetan Manju Desai College, Canacona on May 25 at 4 pm on Google Meet platform.
This webinar is free of cost and will address issues around gender identity, stereotypes and discuss ways in which stereotypes can result in unfair situations as well as conscious attempts to avoid them.
Eminent speakers will be sharing their wisdom on the topic. First speaker is Ashwini Kumar, assistant professor of English at Carmel College, Nuvem and PES College, Ponda) who is vociferously vocal about social evils, especially those related to gender discrimination and stereotypes.
Meanwhile the second speaker is Francis Fernandes who is an activist, writer and co-founder and chairman of Goa Rainbow Trust, an NGO that deals with issues regarding sexuality and gender identity. Those who wish to attend this webinar can join this link https://meet.google.com/
