Panaji: The BJP on Monday warned the opposition parties of action against them if they continue making baseless statements against the state government over the cash-for-jobs scam.
BJP leaders, including Minister Subhash Phal Desai, MLAs Sankalp Amonkar, Kedar Naik, and spokesman Giriraj Pai Vernekar, addressed a press conference at the party headquarters.
Phal Desai said that no chief minister could do what Pramod Sawant has done in connection with the cash-for-jobs scam. He stated that several accused had been arrested in the case and that the investigation had begun.
He further mentioned that despite personal criticism, Sawant continued his efforts to combat corruption and those involved in the cash-for-jobs scam.
Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar said that the opposition leaders were desperate after Congress’s defeat in Haryana and Maharashtra, and they were clearly preparing for their defeat in Goa in the upcoming elections.
“That is why they are making baseless allegations against the government,” he said.
Amonkar also stated that the opposition parties would face defeat in Delhi as well.
Vernekar warned all the opposition parties against making baseless statements. He said that the party would explore all possible options to take action against the opposition if they continued making statements against the government.
