Margao: Ambica Chicken is not a new name for the people in Salcette, especially those living in and around Margao. But what many don’t know is the social initiative taken up by this business house.
While lockdown due to COVID-19 has left several in distress, the owners of this venture have been provided food to almost 50-60 people in Margao’s Cine Lata locality.
But this is not something new for this business house. Rama, son of Kanta Kuncolienkar who started this chain, has been lending helping hand to those who animal lovers who have been regularly feeding stray dogs.
In one such initiative, he has been supplying almost 40 kg of curry pieces per day to Fidoll Frida J Pereira, Majorda-based animal lover, who has been feeding stray dogs for over ten years now.
Kuncolienkar said that he was impressed by the work of Fidoll which led him to help her in the initiative.
“It is a satisfying feeling that we are able to help those people who think good about the others,” he said.
Ambica Chicken has breeder farm at Ramnagar (Karnataka), Hatchery at Old Goa and provide raw and processed chicken through six of its outlets situated in and around Margao.
