2,500 volunteer passes issued for home deliveries: CM

Panaji: While asking the people to stay indoors, Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday said that government has given 2,500 volunteer passes for home delivery of essential goods.

Goa has reported three positive cases for COVID-19 infection in the state, till date.

Sawant tweeted “We have kept grocery shops open 24×7 but our Govt is promoting home delivery mechanism. We have issued over 2500 volunteer passes. I request everyone to stay at home and opt for home delivery.”

The state government has kept open the shops with essential items open during the lockdown period.

A senior government official said that police have been asked to ensure that people follow social distancing while standing in a queue to buy essentials.

Suggestion: If door to door delivery of essential commodities does not work,the next option I suggest that the government vehicles such as KTC shuttle buses could be used to deliver basis items at door step, WhatsApp no.of the delivery system in charge may be given to the area residents,so as to avoid rush and to maintain social distancing during Lockdown Covid’19.
