Margao: The rivalry between Minister Subhash Phal Desai and former DyCM Chandrakant Kavlekar may come to the fore during upcoming Parliamentary election.
Sources claim that Kavlekar is amongst other leaders who are in the top list for South Goa candidature. But Phal Desai’s anger against Kavlekar could be a reason for the latter to face hurdles in getting his name clear.
Kavlekar’s wife, Savitri has been contesting against Phal Desai from Sanguem assembly segment. She has lost two elections. In the recent election, she was a contender for BJP ticket but contested independent when she was denied the ticket.
Sources claimed that Phal Desai, who is one of the major leaders in South Goa, has expressed his opposition to the candidature of Kavlekar.
Kavlekar has been lobbying for over six months to get the ticket. He is also seen in most of the function and frequenting BJP Head office in Panaji.
