Panaji: Social Activist Aires Rodrigues, who is currently fighting a battle against Silly Souls Café and Bar at Assagao has claimed that he has received invitation from Union Minister Smriti Irani to attend her daughter’s wedding at Rajasthan.
Aires said that he would skip the function as it would be improper to attend it when the case is before the Chief Secretary. The restaurant is currently closed.
Aires wrote on social media:
Have known Smriti and her hubby Zubin Irani over two decades ago, while addressing BJP meetings in Goa when the BJP was spreading its tentacles in our State.
We have however crossed swords last year over that stormy infamous Silly Souls Café & Bar at Assagao which was being run by the Irani household and is now closed. Nostalgic memories still linger of our interactions in Goa during those years.
I was delighted to receive an invitation for their daughter’s wedding scheduled in Rajasthan tomorrow. But as the Silly Souls matter is currently sub judice before the Goa Chief Secretary, it would be very inappropriate for me to attend as much as I would have liked to.
Dear Smriti and Zubin, thanks for having remembered and inviting this small little Soul to share this happy occasion. Prayers and choicest blessings to the bridal couple Shanelle & Arjun and their families. Wishing them all the very best and good wishes on this momentous occasion.
