Panaji : India Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa informed that heavy rain fall is lekely to continue on September 22.
“Yesterday’s low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal now lies over southeast Jharkhand& neighbourhood. A trough from this system to Telangana across interior Odisha is seen between 1.5&3.1 km above mean sea level. Heavy rainfall (Rainfall>6.4cm in 24 hrs) is very likely at isolated places over North & South Goa on 22nd September,” IMD Goa said.
A new Low-Pressure Area is likely to form over Northeast & adjoining East-central Bay of Bengal around 24th September evening. It is likely to move westnorthwestwards towards Odisha coast during the subsequent 48 hours.As a result, light to moderate rainfall activity is very likely to continue over North&South Goa districts in the coming days, Said IMD Goa.
