Panaji: Veteran poet and former deputy speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Vishnu Wagh passed away at South Africa on February 8, his wife said on Wednesday.
“Vishnu Wagh passed away on February 8 at South Africa while he was on a tour to Cape Town as her his wish and desire,” his wife Aruna has said in a audio message released here.
Former BJP MLA Wagh, 53, had been ailing since August 2016 when he suffered heart stroke.
BJP State Unit President Vinay Tendulkar said that the news about his demise was received this evening.
“His mortal remains are being brought to Goa from South Africa,” Tendulkar said.
He was Member of Legislative Assembly from St Andre constituency between 2012-2017 and was chairman of State run Goa Kala Academy.
