One Madhya Pradesh tourist drowns at Calangute.

In an unfortunate incident one Madhya Pradesh native Mr. Naveen S/o Dilip Acharya, age- 26 yrs, N/o Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh died due to drowning at Calangute beach.

As per PI Jivba Dalvi a group of 08 persons, all brothers and cousin brothers native of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh had come to Goa for vacation on 12/02/2019.

On the morning of 13/02/2019 at around 08:30 am they entered the sea water at Calangute beach. Further a strong wave pulled 03 of them inside the sea due to which the deceased and two others remained stranded in the deep sea for around 08 minutes and the deceased swallowed lot of water.

Further after some time some persons removed all 03 out of the water however the deceased was unresponsive and shifted to Primary Health Centre, Candolim wherein he was declared brought dead.

Police registered an case of Unnatural Death immediately and conducted inquiry.

Further the post mortem examination was conducted at GMC, Bambolim and cause of death was certified as “Asphyxia due to drowning”. The body has been handed over to the family for final rites.
