Panaji: The Varca Panchayat is set to elect a new Sarpanch and deputy Sarpanch on January 22. The election has importance as the government has taken one month to fill up the vacant posts. Six members of the varca panchayat have voted out the Sarpanch Reginaldo Rodrigues and Deputy sarpanch Vincentina Fernandes From their office after passing a no-confidence motion.
Crosly Charlton Lourenco, who is running for the position of Sarpanch is also the Benaulim block Congress President.
