The students of Shrimati High School Velguem have achieved the great success in the Kala Utsav organized by Goa Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan an initiative of Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The Goa Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan every year organizes competitions for the students of Secondary and Higher Secondary at the District level, those who secure places at District level get the chances to present at the state level competitions.
The first prize winners from each competitions getting the chance to represent themselves at the National level.
The students of Shrimati High School in the Visual Art 3D, Miss Sakshi Hari Ghadi won the first place in female category. In Indigenous toys Mast. Pawan Krishnanath Chari won the 1st place in male category and Miss Sidhi Namdev Gawas won the second place in female category. In Visual Art 2D Ganraj Laxmidas Chari won the secknd place in male category where as Miss Antawiksha Anand Ghadi won the fourth place.
Under Performing Arts categor in Traditional Folk Dance Mast. Sahil Sudesh Priolkar won the first place in male category where as Miss Sindiya Jagganath Ghadi won the third place.
Students achieved success in Visual Art under the guidance of Art teacher Yogesh Vishnu Kauthankar and in Performing Art (Cultural) Vitthal Babal Shelke.
Chairman of Balkrishna Bandodkar Education Society Yatin Kakodkar appreciated the efforts taken by teachers and performance given by students. Secretary Babuso Gaonkar, Manager Subimal Das, Incharge of the school Chitra Paranjape, Principal Anil Vernekar, teaching and non teaching staff appreciated the efforts.
Kala Utsav is an initiative of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India launched in 2015, to promote, arts in education, by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent os school students in the country. This event gives students the opportunity to understand and celebrate cultural diversity at the school, District, State and National level. Kala Utsav has been structured as an art festival to include performances and display of exhibits.
