Two men arrested, five girls rescued by crime branch at Calangute

Calangute: Goa Crime Branch arrested two men were arrested and rescued five girls busting prostitution racket at Calangute beach village on Tuesday.

Police spokesman said that the raid was conducted after police sent a decoy customer under the pretext to procure the girls at Calangute.

“The trap was laid at Calangute after police came to know reliably that main accused Kanha Raju, originally hailing from Odisha, was involved in flash trade,” police said.

Police sent a decoy customer to meet Kanha who led him to a Guest house where second accused was present along with the victims.

Crime Branch sleuths arrested both the accused while all the five girls were rescued and sent to State run Protection Home facility at Merces village near Panaji.

Police said that both the accused were operating in Goa for last five years.
