15th August is Republic Day? Na na! Independence Day

Panaji: State Environment Department’s circular erroneously mentioning August 15 as Republic Day created waves on social media prompting the department to correct it immediately.

The circular was signed by Director of Environment Johnson Fernandes banning sale of Indian National Flags made out of plastic material. The original circular reads:  “Please find enclosed herewith circular regarding ban on sale of Indian National Flags made out of plastic materials on the occasion of the important National Days. You are kindly reported to take needed action in light of the ensuing celebration of Republic Day (15th August, 2019).

The circular was immediately corrected after it made waves on social media.
