Panaji: State election commission has said that total 203 candidates are in fray for upcoming March 22 Zilla Panchayat election.

North Goa has 104 candidates in the fray while 99 are in South Goa, totaling to 203 number after several aspirants withdrew from the race.

In North Goa district, BJP is contesting on 25 seats while congress is on 21. Three are from NCP, seven each from MGP and AAP. Rashtriya Samaj Paksha has fielded one candidate while 40 are independents.

In South Goa district, BJP has 16, Congress 17, NCP 3, MGP 10, AAP 14 and 39 are independents.

In all, BJP is contesting on 41 seats, Congress on 38, NCP on six, MGP 17 and AAP 21, Rashtriya samaj Paksha on one and 79 are independents.
