Three more train passengers test positive, tally touches 34

Panaji: Three more people who had arrived on a train from Mumbai have tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Goa, taking the total tally to 34 active patients.

State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that three more passengers who had arrived in a train from Mumbai in Goa on Sunday have tested positive for COVID-19 infection in the TrueNat (Rapid test) conducted on them.

With these three patients, total number of people testing positive for COVID-19 infection has gone up to 34.

Since morning, the state has recorded eight new positive cases, all of whom had arrived in a train from Mumbai.

As per the data available, around 456 people from the train that arrived in Goa were tested since Sunday in a lab set up at Hospicio hospital in Margao.

After Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram train bringing in infected patients on Saturday, the fresh infection has come from the train that arrived on Sunday from Mumbai.

“All the 34 patients have been admitted to a specially-designated COVID-19 hospital in Margao town,” Rane said.
