Statewide health survey to begin from April 10

Panaji: Goa government will conduct three day long community health survey beginning from April 10 to locate any cases suspected of COVID-19 infection.

State chief minister Pramod Sawant told reporters that extensive survey would be conducted on April 10 to April 12.

“The health survey will map the travel history of the person and whether he is having symptoms like that of COVID-19,” he said.

He said that the government servants including teachers and Anganwadi workers will visit every family during the three days.

Meanwhile, Goa government has announced special insurance cover up to Rs 50 lakh for all the staff including that from private sector working in quarantine facility and COVID hospital.

The staff will also get benefit of 20 per cent rise in their basic salary, till they are posted at these facilities, Sawant said.

Increasing the testing of the patients, the chief minister said that the rapid testing kits would be procured by the government which will be used to test the kins of the positive patients and other suspects.

Sawant said that the state government will also set up respiratory illness ward in Goa medical college and hospital.
