Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar accuses Janardhan Bhandari of involved in extortion

Margao: Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar on Saturday accused Congress leader Janardhan Bhandari of being involved in gambling, extortion of money from shackowners and highway contractor.

Tawadkar said that he had asked police to strictly act against such act, following which Bhandari has been left without any source of income. The Speaker said that Bhandari and his friends were indulging in such acts to stop the work of homes being constructed under Shram Dham concept.

He said that total 20 houses would be constructed for the needy people under this scheme.

Tawadkar said that none of the tree which was procured under auctioning of the forest department was “live” but in fact had fallen due to natural calamities or ageing.

The speaker said that Bhandari along with others termed him as “Veerappan.”

He also challenged Bhandari to show that five truck load of wood was transported to the mill.

Tawadkar said that the teak wood was never transported to the mill. He said that the wood was not of Sagwan.
