Panaji: Congress’ Goa co-incharge Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar said that while her party respects the verdict in Haryana, there was something “fishy” in the EVMs. Talking to reporters in Panaji on Thursday, Nimbalkar stated that the Congress was hoping to form the government in both states—Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir.

“In Haryana, when the counting started, the Congress was leading, but as the day progressed, the BJP took the lead,” she said, adding that a senior Congress leader had already expressed apprehension that there was “something fishy” in the EVMs.

“How come the batteries of the EVMs were at 60 percent when they were fully charged?” she asked, adding that Congress had already lodged a complaint with the authorities. She mentioned that the environment was in favor of Congress in Haryana, but the results indicated otherwise.

Nimbalkar stated that her party accepts the verdict as voters are God. “We have decided to sit in the opposition and work for the people of the state,” she added.
