Panaji: A joint team of doctors from Command Hospital, New Delhi and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be arriving in Goa later in the evening to take stock of the health situation of Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik.

A senior health department official said that health condition of Naik, who is being treated at a private hospital in Goa for COVID-19 infection “fluctuated” in the afternoon.

The union minister has been admitted in the private hospital since August 12 when he was diagnosed positive for the COVID-19 infection.

State Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday confirmed that the team of doctors is arriving from Delhi and said that they (Delhi team) will be taking the decision on whether to shift him for further treatment to the national capital.

Sawant said that the condition of Naik was stable all along but his oxygen levels dropped on Monday after which the medical review was done.

“In the past, the team of doctors from AIIMS Delhi had visited the private hospital to monitor the treatment given to Naik. Once again, they will be arriving today evening,” he said.
