Netravali: Commemorating the foundation day of Shiv Sena, the party held its function at Netraveli in Sanguem taluka where hundred women were distributed Sarees and Umbrella, respecting them for the sacrifice they have been doing during their day to day life.

The function which was organized by Shiv Sena’s Vice President Rakhi Prabhudesai Naik received good response from the people from Sanguem.

Former Sena’s Goa President Ramesh Naik was the chief guest for the function while Current Sena Goa Chief Jitesh Kamat was the guest of honour.

State level Secretaries Mandar Parsekar and Vandana Lobo, South District President Alexy Fernandes, North District President Kishor Rao, Booth Expansion Committee president Raju Virdikar and Quepem taluka chief Sanjay Desai were also present for the function.

In his speech, Naik appealed people to stand by Shiv Sena, which is the only political party touching hearts of the common people. He said that the women should stand united and work for the society and Sena will be ever ready to provide them necessary support.

“Sena is a party of common people. It is the party which has its firm roots. The party will always stand with the people for justice,” he said.

Recalling the custodial attack on Amit Naik at Sanguem police station, Naik warned that any such actions would be dealt with iron hand by Sena. “Locals should have voiced their anger towards police atrocities. It is high time that locals should not tolerate any injustice. Sena also warns that if any such action is repeated, we will not tolerate it,” he said.

Addressing the crowd, Jitesh Kamat appreciated the organization of the program which is befitting the culture of Sena to reach out to the commonest of the person.

“Sena is the only solution for the problems faced by the people. The parties in power have always neglected the common people. They never wanted you all to progress and have better livelihood,” he said.

Kamat said that the situation of the roads in the constituency speaks of how the government has neglected it totally.

Rakhi Prabhudesai Naik said that the function was held to pay respect to the women, who have been sacrificing their lives. “Women are pillar of society. They are the one who show way for the next generation and nurture them. The country is shaped by women,” she said.

Rakhi said that the aim of the current program was to reach up to the society. She also announced formation of an NGO ‘Swabhiman’ which will be a non-political entity.

“I along with the like minded people are launching Swabhiman NGO which will work to restore self esteem amongst the people. People from all political parties, professions, thinking, ideology  can join the NGO. Let’s all work to make people have self esteem and respectable life,” she said.

Alexy Fernandes praised Rakhi claiming that after the entry of her into Sena, the party has gained strength specially in South. “What I admire about her is to take up the issues fearlessly. She has taken head on, against high and mighty providing all proof that is required to support her allegations,” he said.
