Panaji: Shiv Sena has extended its  whole-hearted support to the mining dependents, who have called for a day-long bandh on February 26, in order to press for their demand of resumption of the activity.

Sena’s Goa Vice President Rakhi Prabhudesai Naik has said that Sena leaders, in Centre and also in the State, are firmly with the mining dependents as we equally feel the pinch which is felt by them since the closure of mining industry.

“During the sit-in protest at Ramleela Maidan and also at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi in December, Sena leaders had stood shoulder-to-shoulder with mining dependents,” she said.

“The mining resumption issue would have been raised in Parliament to bring about amendment to existing mining laws, had not been for stalling of Parliament session,” Naik added.

“Sena appeals BJP in the State and also at the Centre to stop playing with the sentiments of mining dependents, who have been running from pillar to post since last one year.”

“There seems to be no solution being given by BJP for the mining crisis though the mining dependents have decided to show their angst against Amit Shah-led party during upcoming Lok Sabha election,” she said.

“The bandh called as a mark of protest and show of strength will be fully supported by Sena cadre. The peaceful bandh is necessary to send a clear signal to the people in power that the masses are suffering,” Naik stated.

“Sena is against any kind of violence during the bandh and has decided to stand with the mining dependents during their time of crisis.”

“Sena also assures that the party will be with the mining dependents till Mining resumes.”
