Panaji: Goa Shiv Sena Chief Jitesh Kamat on Friday expressed his gratitude to Governor Satya Pal Malik for being sensitive towards issues of Goans vis-à-vis Mahadayi water diversion.
Governor on Friday had told local cable channel “Prudent Media” that he was with the people of State in their fight for Mahadayi. He had also attacked central government over the river dispute issue.
In a press statement issued here, Kamat said that Governor is only two month old in the State but is sensitive about sentiments of the locals.
“But some people who are representing Goans are not enough sensitive towards the issue despite the fact that their families are in Goa for two generations,” he said indirectly referring to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
“ Statement of Honorable Governor to be with Goans in fight for Mhadei is welcoming and similar type of statements was expected from CM but unfortunately he is more interested in criticizing agitators,” Kamat said.
Kamat said that instead of criticizing agitators CM should have been stood by them and criticized Karnataka and the Central Ministry for having cheated Goans.
