Ruling coalition asks Governor to hold floor test tomorrow

Porvorim: After being sworn in last night, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said that the government has recommended that the floor test to prove the strength in the House should be called tomorrow, Wednesday.

Sawant currently enjoys support of 20 MLAs including 12 from BJP, three each from Goa Forward Party, MGP and Independents in the 36-seat-House.

“We have written to the Governor requesting her to hold the floor test tomorrow to prove our strength. We are ready for the floor test,” the chief minister told reporters after assuming the office.

Sawant said that his priority, after becoming chief minister, were to complete all the projects undertaken by Parrikar. He also said that State government will build a memorial in the name of Parrikar at Miramar beach, where he was cremated.
