Panaji: The Congress party has threatened to launch a statewide agitation against pothole-ridden roads if the state government fails to repair them within the next three days.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar told reporters on Friday that the party has given a deadline of three days from today to Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Digambar Kamat to repair the pothole-ridden roads.
Chodankar said that, coincidentally, Kamat was the Leader of the Opposition a few years ago when the Congress had launched a protest titled “Selfie with a Pothole.”
“Now, we want Kamat to either repair the potholes within three days or launch the same ‘Selfie with a Pothole’ campaign,” the GPCC chief said.
Chodankar stated that if the government fails to repair the roads, the Goa Pradesh Youth Congress and Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress will launch a statewide agitation.
He said that the Youth Congress will launch a “Selfie with a Pothole” competition, while the Mahila Congress will light candles in potholes every day after 6 pm.
