Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday flagged off 46 new P10 vehicles procured to strengthen the mobility and response capabilities of the Traffic Police, Highway Patrol, district police stations, and the State Police Control Room (SPCR) across the state.
Sawant also handed over appointment letters to newly recruited Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) selected through the Staff Selection Commission, with the recruitment process conducted using technology-enabled measures, including computer-based tests, videography, and RFID-based monitoring.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said modern policing requires trained personnel, technology, and reliable mobility.
The new vehicles and officers would strengthen road safety, field response, crime prevention, and public security across Goa, he said.
Sawant congratulated the newly appointed Police Sub-Inspectors and their families and urged the recruits to serve the state with courage, discipline, integrity, and commitment to public safety.
In a separate programme, the Chief Minister flagged off 10 new semi-luxury buses, adding to the fleet of the Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL).
He said the new buses would strengthen public transport and provide commuters with more comfortable and reliable services across Goa.
As part of the next phase of KTCL’s transformation, six luxury sleeper coaches equipped with modern amenities will be inducted by Dussehra 2026 to improve interstate travel and last-mile connectivity, Sawant said.
An additional 24 semi-luxury buses will also be inducted to further strengthen connectivity between Goa and neighbouring states, he added.
The initiatives are aimed at modernising policing and public transport infrastructure while improving response capabilities and connectivity for citizens, officials said.
