Panaji: The Congress Party in Goa on Sunday demanded that hoardings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the petrol pumps across the country should be removed by the people, holding him responsible for fuel price hike.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar told reporters in Mapusa town on Sunday that the Prime Minister Modi smiling at the people through hoardings when fuel prices are sky rocking makes a clear impression that BJP gets happy over the woes of the people.
“When people are spending their hard earned money to fill high priced petrol or diesel, at the same time, Modi is seen laughing at them through the hoardings on the petrol pumps,” he said.
He said that the people should ask respective petrol pumps across the country to remove hoarding of the Prime Minister.
He said that the Congress party will reduce petrol and diesel prices in the state once voted to power through interventions like reduction of the taxes which are within the purview of the state government.
Chodankar said that the congress party wants to give respite to the common people from the inflation that has been introduced by BJP-led government in the centre and the state.
