Panaji: Like-minded people have demanded that the Goa Medical College’s Cardiology unit should be named after late Dr Manjunath Desai.
The demand was first raised by Dr Shekhar Salkar, renowned onco-surgeon which got support from ex-South Goa Member of Parliament Narendra Sawaikar.
Salkar tweeted “I urge @GovtofGoa to consider naming @GoaGmc ‘s Cardiology Dept/Ward/Cathlab after late Dr Manjunath Desai to remember his contribution to the facility. He was one of the cardiologist instrumental in setting it up and will prove inspirational for other doctors in their work.”
Sawaikar tweeted “The suggestion to name Cardiology unit of @GoaGmc in the memory of late Dr Manjunath Desai is worth considering.”
