Panaji: In what will provide relief to 345 workers of Chowgule company employed at various mines, the Secretary Labour of union government has refused the company to retrench them.
Chowgule company had filed the application under section 25 N of Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 before Secretary of Labour, Government of India for retrenching 345 workers from Pale, Costi and Sirigao mines.
The applications were summarily rejected by the authority after employer filed written argument and union filed their written arguments and rejoinder. The union was represented by Puti Gaonkar.
