Porvorim: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday presented revenue surplus budget with the outlay of Rs 21056.35 crore.
Sawant who is also holding finance portfolio in the budget prioritized mining resumption, avenues in hingerland, medical and eco-tourism, ease of doing business, ease of living in the budget which also aims to develop Goa as conventional destination and education hub.
The budget is revenue surplus of Rs 353.61 crore with budget outlay of Rs 21,056.35 crores.
Sawant in his first ever budget since he took over as the chief minister also launched apprentice scheme through Goa Human Resource Development Corporation for skilled students as well as graduates and also Goa Institute of future transformation in lines with NITI Ayog.
“The GSDP estimates for the year 2019-20 (advanced) is estimated at Rs. 84,888.89 crores and Goa’s per capita income (advanced) at current prices is at 5.02 lakhs, which is highest in the Country. The growth rate is approximately 10 percent,” he said.
Sawant said that the revenue mobilization remains the key to attaining the budgeted targets. “As the GST Stabilizes, and mining resumes, it should boost State’s revenue capacity and support the resumption of fiscal consolidation,” the chief minister said.
