Porvorim, January 27, 2025: Porvorim Rising is all set to host the sixth edition of ‘NoMoZo’ on February 9, bringing the community together for a vibrant day of activities on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Marg. This annual festival celebrates fitness, sports, culture, heritage, and local art and crafts, offering something for all age groups.
Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte expressed his enthusiasm, stating that despite ongoing development work in Porvorim, the spirit of NoMoZo remains unaffected. He emphasized that the event has become a people’s festival and aims to make this edition even more memorable by uniting residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
Sonia Sanjay Pednekar, Sarpanch of Socorro Panchayat, highlighted the event’s role in fostering community spirit, while Ninil D’Souza, a key organizer, revealed exciting new activities across the 12 zones: Kids Zone, Art Zone, Astronomy Zone, Heritage Zone, Performance/Dance Zone, Martial Art Zone, Health Zone, Youth Zone, IT/Science Zone, Fitness Zone, and Boxing Zone.
Notably, the Heritage Zone will showcase Goa’s traditional dances, indigenous art, and crafts, offering a glimpse into the state’s rich cultural roots. The IT Zone will feature live demonstrations of drone technology and 3D printing, providing an inspiring experience for attendees, especially children.
Swapnil Chodankar, Sarpanch of Penha de França Panchayat, praised the initiative for its role in strengthening community connections. Free stalls will again be provided to support local vendors, promoting local businesses while creating a platform for talent showcase.
Building on the success of last year’s event, which saw over 25,000 attendees, NoMoZo 6.0 promises to be an unforgettable day filled with diverse activities, performances, and opportunities to connect with Goa’s heritage and innovation.
