Panaji: Goa police on Friday arrested a Physical education teacher for raping a minor girl from a government school in Pernem taluka of North Goa.
A senior police official stated that Kalpesh Chandrakant Mahale, who is in his 30s, was arrested on Friday, after the victim complained of a rape against him.
As per the complaint filed with Mopa Police station, the accused who is an employee of Sports Authority of Goa and deputed at the government school in Pernem taluka, befriended a minor girl student.
Police claimed that the accused took the victim to places like Arambol and Morjim beach on several occasions where he raped her.
“During the investigation, the accused was also found sending obscene messages to the victim on her Instagram account,” police said.
The accused has been booked under section 363 (kidnapping), 354 (outraging modesty), 376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code and section 67 of Goa Children’s Act.
