Panaji: On December 9, 2024, at approximately 8:45 p.m., a grievous incident occurred at an under-construction building near Ram Mandir in Bhatlem, Panaji, Goa.
Nazir Mulla, a 45-year-old contractor residing at House No. 272, Tamdi Mati, opposite Madhuban Building, St. Inez, Panaji, lodged a complaint stating that his laborer, Mr. John (full name and address not provided), aged 48, was murdered.
The accused, identified as Arvind Tiwari, 38, from 1/72, Vipul Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, allegedly committed the crime by slashing Mr. John’s neck with a sharp weapon.
A case has been registered under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. The accused was apprehended within two hours of the incident and is currently in custody.
Place of Arrest: The accused, Arvind Tiwari, was apprehended at Yog Sethu, Panaji, Goa.
Motive: The murder was reportedly triggered by a sudden quarrel between the accused and the victim, Mr. John, over the sharing of food.
Further investigation is ongoing.
