One Day State mourning in Goa over death of former Japan PM

Panaji: Goa government will observe one day state mourning on the passing away of Shizo Abe, former Prime Minister of Japan on Saturday.

Shreyas D’Silva, Under Secretary (General Administration) in a notification issued on Friday has announced one day long mourning on Saturday.

“The Government of Goa expresses profound sorrow on the passing away of Mr Shinzo Abe, Former Prime Minister, Japan on the 8th of July 2022,” the notification reads.

“As a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, State mourning will be observed throughout the State of Goa on July 09,” it further reads.

The notification states that during the period of State mourning the National Flag will be flown at Half Mast on all buildings throughout the State of Goa where it is flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment on the day.
