Panaji: Gone are the days when you could park for free in Panaji.
Corporation of City of Panaji on Saturday unveiled Pay Parking at different locations, which are notified by the District Collector.
CCP Mayor Uday Madkaikar said that the pa parking has come in force with immediate effect. The vehicles are categorized into two, four-wheelers and two-wheelers.
MONTHLY PASSES INTRODUCED
CCP has introduced monthly passed for the customers. The two wheelers can avail monthly pass paying Rs 175, quarterly Rs 480 and yearly Rs 1,800.
The four wheelers can get monthly pass by paying Rs 2,000, quarterly Rs 5250 and yearly Rs 18,000.
HOW WILL PANAJI BENEFIT
The city is likely to benefit in terms of doing away unnecessary parking that was occupying the spaces. The Pay Parking would be only on the notified roads. People who buy the passes will have to stick it on their vehicles.
RESIDENTS WITHOUT PARKING FACILITY WOULD BE SPARED: MAYOR
CCP Mayor Uday Madkaikar has said that most of the buildings in the city have their own parking spaces. But in case of old buildings, the CCP will work out a proper scheme, exempting them from paying.
