Panaji: The State Excise department has done away with manual application system, as it launches a new module Goa Excise Management System (GEMS) for online registration.
The liquor trade owners can now make online application and processing for grant of new licenses, transfer and shifting of existing licences and cancellation request.
Chief Secretary Parimal Rai on Tuesday launched the new system and urged all the licence holders to avail new facilities developed by the department.
New module of Online application and processing of request will reduce the clearing time significantly and also bring transparency and accountability in the entire system.
Further new modules such as issue of online transport permits from Manufacturers to Wholesaler, and from Wholesalers to Retailers, Online Production and Tracking module for all manufacturing Unit and Online Enforcement module to track violations and repeat offences were also launched.
Excise Department has also got a new user friendly ebsite URL:https://goaexcise.gov.in for general public through which people can known about various procedures, contact details, fees and duties, various facts and figures and also authenticate and verify licenses, labels, permits, NOC etc issued by the Department.
