St Cruz: Despite Old Goa Police filing First Information Report against illegal road digging two months back, the activity has resurfaced at St Cruz on the internal road.
Social activist and Director of Hope Foundation Inacio Pereira has brought this to the notice of the police and public works department officials.
Interestingly, two months back Old Goa Police had filed FIR for road digging at the same spot.
Inacio has pointed out that while the contractor at site claims that the road is being dug for BSNL, the signage there claims it is to lay the Gas Pipeline.
He said that the action should be taken against contractor and concerned authorities for taking up road digging without proper permission.
The digging of the road on the slope connecting Bambolim to St Cruz has created hazardous situation for the vehicles.
Social activist Ganesh Chodankar has also echoed the same concerns. He said that the road is being dug without proper permissions, illegally while authorities are ignoring the violations.
