NIO to organise 9th edition of Indian International Science Festival on Monday

Panaji: CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography will be organising the 9th edition of India International Science Festival (IISF-Goa) on its campus on Monday, 18th December 2023. Students from about 100 secondary and higher secondary schools are expected to participate in the half-day program starting at 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. The theme of this year’s edition is ‘Science and Technology – Public Outreach in Amrit Kaal’. IISF 2023 aims to provide a platform for inspiring public at large and individuals with diverse levels of interests like students, educators and build scientific temper among the masses and to create awareness regarding various scientific knowledge.
During the event at the CSIR-NIO, students will visit the exhibitions on innovations in marine science and technology to apprise them with latest developments in ocean research. They will be attending talks and film shows on scientific topics followed by interaction with the scientists.
IISF-Goa is being organised by NIO in association with Vidnyan Parishad – Goa in an effort to provide a boost to showcasing some of its scientific and technological achievements among the young minds. These collective efforts of dissemination are to educate as well as enthuse them with scientific temper.
The IISF is dedicated towards fostering creativity in Science, Technology and Innovation for the advancement of prosperous India. This event was initiated under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi through collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Earth Sciences in association with Vijnana Bharati.
The event is open to the public.
